Making the book

The stories in this book were gathered from the barren hills of Peru to remote farming communities in Malawi, as told to us by our local microfinance affiliates around the world.

Here in Canada, the creation of this book was only made possible through significant volunteer investment at every stage. Our thanks to the following individuals who offered their time, services and expertise to this project, making it possible for a larger amount of every sale to benefit entrepreneurs in the developing world:

Anne Day PICNIK 85Anne Day: Anne is an Opportunity International Canada Governor; founder of Company of Women, an organization that supports, connects and promotes women in business; Editor of Company magazine and former Managing Editor of Today’s Parent.  As a volunteer, Anne edited and compiled the stories in the book. www.companyofwomen.ca

Rick Carter: Rick is a highly-skilled photographer and Governor with Opportunity International Australia.  Recently he held an exhibit in Sydney, featuring Opportunity clients in India. www.eightsixty.org 

Diana Bishop: With twenty years of experience as a broadcast journalist (CBC, CTV and NBC), Diana is a veteran communications expert and story-teller.  She joined us on a volunteer basis to help sharpen the overall trajectory of the book.
